About The Position

The Production Supervisor (Shipping) is responsible for overseeing shipping operations, order picking (upholstery), and shipping activities. This role ensures inventory accuracy, timely order fulfillment, and efficient management of material handling equipment. Will oversee a team hourly Shipping Operators, will work closely with production and purchasing departments, and ensure internal and external orders are merged and shipped on time.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage and analyze KPIs, warehouse metrics, and financial data.
  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to generate reports and track warehouse performance.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with other departments.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Solid understanding of material handling and warehouse equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting, preferably in furniture handling with shipping experience.
  • Experience with inventory management, material handling equipment, and warehouse systems is essential.
  • Proficiency in understanding financial metrics.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in English, Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Only

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in furniture handling, logistics, and shipping is highly desirable, as well as the ability to manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily receipt of merchandise, supplies and parts and ensures accurate documentation as it relates to upholstery/furniture inbound shipments.
  • Perform and oversee inventory cycle counts to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate the picking, packing, and shipping of orders, ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure timely merging and fulfillment of internal and external orders.
  • Directs the workflow, motivates, trains, and monitors the performance of Shipping Operators, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Track and manage key warehouse metrics and KPIs (e.g., order accuracy, inventory turnover, fulfillment speed) to improve performance.
  • Monitors work processes and makes suggestions for modifications to increase and improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy for reducing costs; implement changes as directed or needed.
  • Utilize Excel and other tools to analyze warehouse data, monitor financial metrics, and report on performance.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of all material handling equipment, ensuring proper upkeep and safety.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline shipping operations and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align warehouse operations with overall business goals.
