We have an exciting opportunity at our Pueblo, CO facility for a Production Supervisor - Packaging! The Role The Packaging Supervisor will supervise assigned packaging personnel in the completion of the packaging schedule. This individual will serve as the liaison between the Manufacturing Manager, Production Planners and Packaging personnel. The Packaging Supervisor will review procedures, recommend and make improvements in packaging operations through procedure edits and TWIs. This individual will train personnel, perform all supervisory functions for subordinate personnel and plan packaging material requirements. This individual will participate in the FMEA, 8d investigations, and Control Plan process. Have the ability to generate NCMRs, and revise procedures. Must be 40-hour Hazwoper trained. This person will also fill in for the Manufacturing Manager as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience at lead person or equivalent level.
  • 6+ years’ packaging experience or equivalent, high purity packaging preferred.
  • Good computer skills. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel software on assignment.
  • Have the ability to fill in for Manufacturing Manager if needed.
  • Demonstrated strong EHS compliance and Job Safety culture and modeling safety behaviors in others.
  • Ability to lead teams and influence personnel, from operator level to management.
  • Generate documentation such as Near misses, First aids, and Environmental reports.
  • Proficient use of computers and MS Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams.
  • In depth knowledge of SAP working platform is required, must have a CMMS background.
  • Ability to be fitted for and wear a respirator.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have a valid Colorado drivers’ license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment.
  • One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work schedules for packaging operations between Drumming, tote, and Bottling. Adjust schedules as needed and make personnel changes accordingly.
  • Ensure all operations are carried out per our written procedures with safety and quality at the forefront.
  • Understand and have the ability to help troubleshoot equipment issues and work closely with maintenance and engineering personnel.
  • Communicate equipment and material needs with management, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
  • Work with little to no supervision, able to make independent decisions and implement them, keep management informed.
  • Coordinate extensively with other departments.
  • Track employee performance and provide positive and negative feedback, including disciplinary action if needed.
  • Advise on personnel issues related to cross training.
  • Attend Production Scheduling meetings and assist in negotiating the final schedule weekly.
  • Keep management informed of work status and fill out any related reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure Safety and Quality Management Systems are maintained, improved, and remain certified.
  • Ensure daily housekeeping and 6S activities are successfully completed.
  • Perform quarterly employee reviews and assessments for annual increases.
  • Approve time sheets, track attendance and training records.
  • Evaluate employee training progress and conduct operating unit certification evaluations and testing.
  • Ensure all paperwork is correct, from the start of the filling operation to the end, and prepare documentation for lab review, to include all samples and particle counts according to sample plan.
  • Working supervisor. Maintain job associated certifications and assist in packaging tasks as needed.
  • Operate forklift and other manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Supervise personnel to ensure timely and safe completion of packaging activities and completion of other assigned activities such as training, housekeeping, safety inspections, etc.
  • Support Environmental Safety and Health and Quality department programs and requirements, new products, and special projects, as needed.
  • 40-hour Hazwoper trained, Incident Command Level Emergency Response Team certified at first opportunity after assignment.
  • Perform other duties, as required.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift as required as well as be on call, work additional hours, and some weekends will be required.
