Role: We're seeking an experienced Production Supervisor at at our optical manufacturing facility in Plano, TX. Prior relevant experience is necessary. Schedules: Our 2nd/night shifts work 3 days/week and 4 days off. Perfect for those wanting to restructure non-work hours or minimize commutes. Shift 2A works: Sundays through Tuesdays (3:30 pm - 4:00 am) Shift 2B works: Wednesdays through Fridays (3:30 pm - 4:00 am) Pay & extras: Competitive pay, bonus opportunities, a generous PTO plan and many other benefits. Job Description General Summary : Responsible for supervising the daily functions of production departments including meeting production goals, daily goals, hiring and development of staff, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for associates.

Requirements

  • No specific education level required
  • Must demonstrate 3 to 5 years directly related experience
  • Prior supervisory experience is necessary
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of MS Office including word and excel
  • Must be able to read and write English

Responsibilities

  • Manages Jobs per Hour in production departments
  • Supervises activities in assigned department(s), ensuring work flow and proper utilization of associates
  • Ensures older jobs are processed in a timely manner
  • Resolves breakage issues to keep breakages low
  • Conducts root cause analysis to timely identify issues and minimize disruption to production levels
  • Process and review daily reports
  • Manages lens and frame inventory as required
  • Works to ensure other departments within the lab maintain a steady work flow and works with other department supervisors and production manager to resolve interdepartmental issues
  • Trains lead associates, oversees associate training and cross trains associates to effectively perform at multiple stations within the department
  • Performs administrative functions including Interviewing and selecting associates, reviewing associate performance, addressing issues, monitoring attendance, scheduling work and vacation time
  • Implements SOPs, department policies and procedures; enforces all Company Policies and Procedures
