About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the night shift operations from 7pm to 7am at Novolex, a leader in packaging innovation and sustainability. The role involves ensuring that shift employees adhere to safe work practices, conducting safety training, troubleshooting operational issues, and maintaining product quality. The supervisor will also be involved in motivating employees, improving production methods, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Resourceful problem solver with proven ability to resolve challenging situations.
• Team player with the ability to build lasting productive business relationships.
• Ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, customers, or suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure shift employees are following safe work practices and procedures consistently and completely.
• Audit for compliance and address safety issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct safety and job function training for shift personnel.
• Train employees in proper procedures, coach them to improve results, and evaluate performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment, and material issues in conjunction with machine operators and support personnel.
• Interpret work orders and specifications to shift employees as necessary.
• Lead and/or assist shift employees in problem resolution.
• Spot check product quality and ensure specifications are being met and quality procedures are being followed.
• Recommend measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and reduction of waste.
• Suggest changes in procedures, labor utilization, use of equipment, and materials to increase efficiency.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
• Double-check, ensure accuracy, and finalize production paperwork.
• Interpret company policies, rules, and regulations to employees.
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
• Perform activities of employees supervised as needed.
• Complete all other projects and duties as assigned.
