About The Position

The position involves supervising assigned employees and ensuring compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies. The supervisor will manage schedules and production to meet customer demands, administer personnel functions including interviewing, selection, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, with a focus on employee development. The role also encompasses responsibility for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping. The supervisor must maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment, anticipate and troubleshoot problems, and coordinate with other departments for resolution. Ensuring that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed is crucial, as is coordinating production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transitions. The supervisor will also ensure that all equipment is operational and maintained according to specifications, screen, interview, select, and onboard new hires, conduct performance appraisals, and coach employees. Additionally, the supervisor will champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent leadership and team skills required.
  • Ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or another related field highly preferred.

  • Ensure established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transitions.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.
  • Screen, interview, select, and onboard new hires; conduct performance appraisals; coach and counsel employees.
  • Champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
