About The Position

Heartline Staffing, a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting, is supporting a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging in the search for an experienced Production Supervisor – Converting to join their manufacturing operation in Richmond, Virginia. This role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality production within a corrugated box converting environment. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading shift operations, managing personnel, and ensuring production goals, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives are consistently met. This position works closely with the Production Manager to oversee workflow, troubleshoot issues, and drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Converting Supervisor experience within a corrugated (cardboard box) production facility REQUIRED
  • Must have direct, hands-on experience with corrugate (cardboard box) conversion operations REQUIRED
  • Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain leadership REQUIRED
  • Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment REQUIRED
  • Proven track record of effective problem-solving and decision-making
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and training employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to serve as an on-shift resource for troubleshooting process and maintenance-related issues
  • Ability to make independent, effective decisions in a fast-paced production environment
  • Must be a self-directed team player capable of working with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline preferred
  • Six Sigma experience or certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the production system and teams to ensure safe and efficient production within the Converting department.
  • Oversee day-to-day shift operations in partnership with the Production Manager to meet production needs.
  • Track and manage KPIs, productivity metrics, and production goals while managing workflow and personnel.
  • Lead by example and aggressively champion safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supervise personnel and manage work performance levels within the internal DMS.
  • Coach and train employees to support performance, engagement, and development.
  • Serve as the on-shift resource for troubleshooting process and maintenance-related issues.
  • Make independent, effective decisions to resolve operational challenges.
