About The Position

The Production Supervisor at BASF's Care Chemicals division in White Stone, SC, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring safe and efficient production processes. This role involves providing technical leadership, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor will work closely with team leaders and operators to meet production goals while adhering to BASF's safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and process safety management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with troubleshooting manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with RCRA compliance and hazardous materials handling.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the plant and execute the required production plan.
  • Champion risk reduction activities and promote a Zero Incident & Zero Loss of Containment mindset.
  • Lead and coach team leaders, ensuring efficient and accurate operator work.
  • Complete Hazwoper and Incident Commander training; serve as Incident Commander during emergencies.
  • Conduct safety tours and ensure compliance with safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and communication on AIMs and action items.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and communicate findings effectively.
  • Oversee employee training and ensure compliance with the site competency training program.
  • Coach crew members to achieve performance goals and complete performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate, including timecards, expense reports, and SAP transactions.
  • Enforce safety and environmental rules and ensure compliance with process safety requirements.
  • Implement and supervise compliance programs for Polyol's and VAC graft polymerization.
