About The Position

Summit Truck Bodies,LLC, a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce due to increasing sales. If you are a motivated team player, who is committed to producing a high quality product on time and safely, we want you on our team. We are looking for a dedicated experienced lead for our assembly department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an MVR in good standing
  • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication machinery, welding processes, automotive paint process and/or vehicle electrical/mechanical systems and installation techniques.
  • Must be able to read and interpret internal documentation and drawings.
  • Ability to efficiently use various hand and power tools
  • Keen attention to detail is required
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment in a safe manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned
  • Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery such as a forklift
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with constant demands and shifting priorities.
  • Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people
  • Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
  • Requires multitasking on many projects at once.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate and lead a dedicated team focused on the fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly of custom service and lube bodies and other specialized equipment and accessories.
  • Work closely with production management to ensure that production schedule and product quality requirements are met.
  • Proactively work with fellow team members to further optimize processes where applicable.
  • Lead all aspects of the production process and assist with the development of documented work processes and training where applicable.
  • Perform functions and duties of the job that may require additional or different tasks to be performed when circumstances change (i.e., emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments).
  • Ensure safety procedures are being followed.
  • Review and correct employee time cards daily.
  • Responsible for material issues and cycle counts in the area.
  • Place orders for any material/items that are needed in area.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
