About The Position

The Production Supervisor at Bostik is responsible for overseeing the production team and ensuring that production plans meet customer requirements while effectively utilizing plant resources. This role involves direct supervision of production personnel, including job assignments, training, and discipline. The supervisor will ensure the accuracy of process records before they are submitted for entry into SAP and actively promote safety improvement programs within the plant. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives and manages purchasing to meet budgetary constraints.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervision or leadership role.
  • Associates degree in Business, Industrial Operations Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or significant progress towards a degree.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing including production, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Material planning experience.
  • QMS or related education in Lean, 6 Sigma, and Theory of Constraints preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement and 5S experience preferred.
  • OSHA training preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven record in resolving conflict.

  • Experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Planner/Scheduler to produce a production plan that meets customer requirements.
  • Direct supervision of production personnel including job assignments, training, and discipline.
  • Ensure process record accuracy before submission for entry into SAP.
  • Promote plant safety improvement and programs including 4S, SBO, Pure Safety, Safety Zone, 5S, and operator safety checklists.
  • Support Continuous Improvement through the use of problem-solving tools and Kaizen participation.
  • Manage purchasing, as authorized, to meet budget.
  • Lead on-floor implementation of site initiatives.
  • Practice and enforce safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Ensure all materials for production are available to the production line.
  • Adjust workforce distribution as needed to meet production demand.
  • Make regular rounds of the production floor to identify and correct issues.
  • Communicate mechanical issues to maintenance and work with the maintenance supervisor to schedule repairs.
  • Lead the manufacturing team in daily continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Track production floor KPIs daily and implement corrective actions.
  • Use team-oriented problem-solving to eliminate root causes of safety, quality, and production concerns.
  • Coach, train, develop, evaluate, and recommend wage adjustments for production team members.
  • Participate in the hiring process of plant personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Complete and ensure adherence to the site-wide 5S Program.
  • Audit production documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
