About The Position

Join PPG Aerospace! As a 2nd shift Production Supervisor, you will support your team in the manufacturing environment and develop the daily activities in production. The Production Supervisor assures that the department staff has the tools needed to perform the tasks of daily production. You will also meet production targets, manage timecards daily, support productivity goals and engagement goals. This is an onsite role at our Sylmar, CA. location and you will report to the Production Manager.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• High School Diploma and 5+ years of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, or manufacturing environment or Bachelor's Degree AND 2 years + in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing environment
• Must have some technical ability for troubleshooting
• Ability to communicate across all levels
• Available to work some Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe operating environment
• Meet daily production schedules and reports status
• Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance expectations
• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment
• Analytical skills to communicate using data and strong problem-solving skills
• Responsible for 5S initiatives sustainment by identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes
• Trains, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees. Identifies high performers for the organization
• Reviews, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines employees as necessary
• Identifies and recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs
• Monitors and controls cost of manufacturing, including material usage and overtime
• Assures proper maintenance of equipment and tooling
• Supervises accurate and timely reporting of WIP movement
• Understands lean manufacturing and SPC principles and their application in production

Benefits

• Salary Range $80,000-$88,000 plus annual bonus
