About The Position

AAM is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team in North Vernon, IN, on second shift. The Production Supervisor directly supervises hourly associates and directs resources as required. They oversee the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities, manage the dispersal and distribution of materials for production, and maintain labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule. The supervisor oversees production associates' work and coordinates with production support staff leaders, communicates expectations, and provides direction and training. They monitor work performance and provide feedback, coordinate maintenance of production equipment, and oversee process control and quality process control.

Requirements

  • 2+ years supervising production staff
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Willingness to work during the weekends
  • Flexibility to work across a 3-shift operation
  • Experience working in PLEX systems or similar

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  • 5+ years supervising production staff
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the manufacturing organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervises production associate outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates.
  • Communicates job expectations and plans, monitors, and appraises job contributions.
  • Maintains production processes by observing process volumes and recommending process adjustments.
  • Completes production processes by monitoring progress, expediting material flow and work results, and resolving problems.
  • Improves process workflow by eliminating stoppages, analyzing delays, and testing new methods.
  • Records production by completing daily shift production reports and calculating yields and recoveries.
  • Maintains process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union, where applicable, by complying with the terms of the CBA.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations.
  • Contributes to production process and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests.
