About The Position
The Production Supervisor position at Tyson Foods, Inc. is a critical role responsible for maintaining high production standards, ensuring quality yields, and fostering a safe working environment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the production process, accurate record-keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing. The supervisor will check daily production orders to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled and that every position is filled before the production line starts. Additionally, the supervisor will oversee Team Member morning exercises and job rotations to promote ergonomics and ensure that all machinery operates at optimal standards. The role also involves ensuring that all workstations pass USDA inspections, promoting safety through daily practices and monthly safety meetings, and ensuring accurate shipments, inventory rotation, and proper product coding. The supervisor is responsible for communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members, providing encouragement to build a cohesive team, and performing essential human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling Team Members on personal and professional issues. Other duties include overseeing various processing operations, collaborating with other supervisors to solve problems, keeping records of reworked or returned products, and providing continuous education on the importance of quality. The supervisor will also perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the production team and maintain operational efficiency.
