About The Position

The Production Superintendent is responsible for the planning, management, and coordination of the front or back end manufacturing operation. This includes the development of monthly and weekly production schedules, ensuring the safe manufacture of a quality product with minimal scrap or rework while meeting customer specifications. The role also involves establishing and maintaining budgets for the areas supervised and manpower planning. The Production Superintendent directs and monitors production, delegating authority to Area Managers, Supervisors, and/or Production Supervisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent years of on-the-job experience in a technical field.
• Several years' experience at various progressing levels of manufacturing management.
• Solid understanding of business and ability to motivate subordinates.
• Good leadership skills.
• Ability to work with senior management as a business team.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and customers.
• Results-oriented with the ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions.
• Safely manufacture products and maintain a safe work environment, emphasizing accident prevention.
• Establish and execute annual operating budgets for areas under supervision.
• Formulate long and short-range strategies for front or back end manufacturing.
• Control cost of production and monitor production through Area Managers and Supervisors.
• Direct hiring, training, career progression planning, performance appraisals, salary changes, promotions, and disciplinary actions for subordinates.
• Coordinate and attend regular production meetings.
• Recommend and purchase new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, and quality improvement.
• Maintain and enhance a team environment and motivate an effective workforce.
