About The Position

Are you a student seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? As a Production Student at Vermeer, you’ll support our Parts Center and order fulfillment teams by assisting with receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products. This seasonal role offers the opportunity to learn core production processes, contribute to team goals, and develop skills for future career growth.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent by the start of employment.
  • Must be pursuing a post-secondary degree or credential (associate’s, bachelor’s, or equivalent) at an accredited institution, with full-time student status following completion of the summer student experience.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (training provided).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and directions.
  • Willingness to learn and perform basic functions in computer systems and use handheld scanners.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships and commitment to Vermeer’s caring culture, agility, customer focus, and stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, storing, packaging, and distributing materials and products throughout the Parts Center and manufacturing facility, using a variety of material handling equipment (e.g., carts, lift tables, roller floors).
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to documented standard work or predetermined sequence (such as part number, commodity, size, or product code).
  • Fill customer orders from stock and convey orders to packing stations or shipping departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support order fulfillment by referencing work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Safely operate equipment and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform basic functions in designated computer systems and use handheld scanners to process inventory transactions.
  • Maintain positive working relationships, follow detailed directions, and contribute to a team environment focused on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
