About The Position

The Production Innovation Specialist is responsible for maintaining manufacturing discipline across EV battery and ESS assembly lines. This role focuses on the production innovation activities, 3R5S, and overall production efficiency of the production line. The Specialist is responsible for KPI Management, Downtime Registration, and Visual Management to ensure that all departments adhere to Samsung’s 5S standards. A core function of this role is acting as the primary liaison with both the HQ Innovation Team and the HQ Manufacturing Team, generating and sharing performance reports.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing (Automotive or Battery industry preferred).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 3R/5S methodology, and Visual Management.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint (professional reports)
  • System Experience: Working knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift light objects, stand, and walk
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • HQ Liaison (Innovation & Manufacturing Teams): Act as the main point of contact for the Global Headquarters (HQ) Innovation and Manufacturing teams. Coordinate local initiatives with corporate standards and respond to HQ inquiries regarding site productivity and 3R5S status.
  • KPI Reporting & Distribution: Compile, analyze, and share daily/weekly/monthly production KPI reports (e.g., OEE, Yield, 5S compliance). Distribute these reports to local management and HQ teams to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Downtime Registration: Categorize and register production downtime (equipment failure, material shortage, changeovers, etc.) in the system.
  • 3R5S Audit & Visual Management: Conduct weekly 5S audits and visual management. Follow up on the NCs, and maintain corrective action logs.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure 5S/3R discipline is integrated into daily operational workflows.
  • Safety & 5S Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Perform daily inspection checklists for all assigned equipment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
