About The Position

Performs typical machine operations to support the manufacturing division. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Mains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety rules. Performs prescribed machine setup, tooling and calibration for making door preps. Performs (but not limited to) the following tasks: beveling, cutting, boring chiseling, drilling, sanding and de-burring. Is intimately familiar with door hardware templates and their application to precise door preps. Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the task stated above. Exercises focused mental concentration in the presence of high-speed cutting and milling equipment.

Requirements

• Past experience in commercial woodworking (doors, mill work, cabinets, etc.).
• Can read and interpret drawings and order tags.
• Can perform simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Works well in a fast-paced, TEAM environment.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of CAD drafting with some past experience a plus.
• PC skills a definite plus.
