About The Position

Summary of Position: Maintain and coordinate production activities within the facility, with directions from the Production leadership. Set up standards of performance, measure progress, set up and control workflow to ensure total manufacturing objectives are accomplished, and recommend areas of continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturing, Seat Assembly, and/or similar experience.
  • Working knowledge of production process flow diagrams, standard work instructions, controls plans and PFMEA process.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Experience with APQP process, flowcharts, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Ability to have a strong focus and adherence to compliance with targets.
  • Proven experience with complex data and problem analysis, root cause techniques, and solutions.
  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate production activities and system improvements.
  • Coordinates production activities within the facility to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished.
  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning work procedures, schedules, duty assignments, and recommend staffing needs.
  • Review production or processing issues with the Production Manager as needed.
  • Develops and conducts programs to train assembly and quality in installation, inspection, safety, and repair of production vehicle seats, following standard work instructions, safety procedures, and MES build sequences, using hand tools, smart screw gun drivers, DC torque system tools and various other tooling and fixtures.
  • Confers with management and staff to determine training objectives.
  • Demonstrates procedures being taught, such as following work instructions, company rules, expected behaviors, and safety practices.
  • Review production or processing issues with the Production and Engineering Managers as needed.
  • Monitor, control, and make recommendations to minimize labor overtime costs within production department.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports, process flows and PFMEA for proper action and recording.
  • Work with Production & Engineering Managers in setting and monitoring production standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, job rotations, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Work with Production and Engineering Managers to implement and maintain various programs such as continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
  • Complete and demonstrate with proficiency the assembly of various seat assemblies from different customers, including the test and repair process of each seat assembly.
  • Observe workflow and processes, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production, processing, and/or quality standards.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to floor associates.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and discipling employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, observing control points and equipment, developing reporting procedures and systems, and facilitating corrections to malfunction within process control points.
  • Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing production standards.
