About The Position

The Production Specialist I at Spectrum News is responsible for collaborating with Master Control Operators and the newsroom team to create high-quality content that informs and engages local audiences. This role involves utilizing technical expertise to enhance production quality and ensuring smooth operations during broadcasts. The position is ideal for individuals who are creative, technically skilled, and passionate about storytelling in a fast-paced news environment.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in television production.
• College degree or technical discipline in television production or related field, or comparable work experience.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude with television control room and studio production technology.
• Experience with audio mixers, robotic camera controls, production automation systems, newsroom editorial software, non-linear editing systems, satellite systems, bonded cellular systems, router systems, and automated on-air play out systems.
• Familiarity with video switchers, character generators, DVE's, and video servers.
• Ability to promote teamwork and exhibit leadership skills in directing duties.
• Understanding of shot composition, lighting, and aesthetics.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work independently.
