About The Position

This position is under the direction of the Extrusion Manager and is responsible for producing and/or packaging quality tubing and/or cut pieces according to customer specifications. Assisting the Production Lead in all areas such as; Line set ups, Change overs, and troubleshooting. This position requires interaction with all aspects of the production process. This person must be capable of performing all employee tasks and other duties as required and assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned Follow all safe work practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work closely with local management and production personnel to achieve the “My Choice is Zero Accidents” objective. Check all work orders for specific work instructions. Perform quality checks with appropriate measuring devices. Accurately complete all paperwork as required by ISO, GMP, HACCP. Collect retains during hourly quality checks for Quality Control inspection. Inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and professional look. Perform random quality checks every 5 to 10 minutes to ensure product specifications. Ensuring correct material, packaging supplies and quality control tools are being used. Produce labels for cartons/spools. Set up lines, troubleshoot as necessary. Assign lot numbers as applicable. Limit process scrap to a minimum. Maintain line specifications. Pull, clean, and insert extruder screw. Disassemble and re-assemble extruder tooling; from the adapter to the pin and die Bring up the extrusion line. Operate all pulling and cutting equipment. Change cutter blades, bushings, and channels as necessary. Have acceptable attendance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating instructions and procedure manuals and manufacturing terminology.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports.
  • Ability to follow and understand verbal instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to other employees of the organization and respond to questions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percentages to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is regularly required to hear and talk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move 75 pounds or more with help from others or lift assist devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
