Summer 2026 Production Software Front-End-Tools Internship: During the course of a 10-week internship, interns will work closely with our world-class artists and top engineers in this field. Some of our engineers started themselves as interns here at DreamWorks and are now leading efforts that are recognized industry-wide. This internship is a unique opportunity to work on interesting graphics technologies in a production environment. The work will help us build tools and improve workflows for Layout and Previsualization artists using Maya and USD. You will contribute to software that is used for all feature films at the studio. Projects will vary depending on the domain expertise of the candidate.

Requirements

  • Submit your resume, cover letter, and a link to any websites (GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc) or blog indicating technical skills such as math and programming. Relevant coursework listed at the top of your resume is helpful as well
  • Majoring in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Physics, and Mathematics or related field(s)
  • Strong interest in animation; passion for how technology and art work together
  • Dedicated, resourceful, an excellent communicator, possesses critical thinking skills, and is a great teammate
  • Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be willing to work in Glendale, CA
  • Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Python or C++ experience
  • Experience with industry-standard DCC applications such as Maya, Houdini or Blender
  • Experience with USD
  • Ability to work within a Linux environment
