About The Position

Production Shift Supervisor Summary Lead a shift team of up to 20 employees across multiple shop‐floor departments, directing daily workflow so every order ships on time, every time. You’ll balance people, machines, and materials—driving a forklift, filling in on equipment, and handling paperwork as needed—while upholding safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. The role is hands‐on: expect to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime when production peaks. Key Responsibilities Champion a safe, uncluttered workplace : keep the plant clean, organized, and inspection‐ready. Run the shift : assign work, adjust labor to meet changing priorities, and step in on machines when necessary. Maintain flow : move parts between departments, label shipments accurately, and issue materials first‐in/first-out. Hit the schedule : track work‐in‐process and monitor work orders in the ERP system to ensure on-time delivery. Communicate in real time : relay material or manpower needs to Purchasing and Scheduling as priorities shift. Drive quality : perform final or secondary inspections, stage first‐article reports, and escalate issues to the Production Manager. Foster a customer‐first culture : coach the team to see every task through the lens of customer impact.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role (manufacturing/fabrication environment preferred)
  • Proven inventory‐management skills
  • Hands-on fabrication or mechanical background
  • Forklift operation and daily equipment checks
  • ERP and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Blueprint reading; ability to use tape measures, calipers, and related gauges
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Willing to work overtime and maintain a fast production pace
