About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily production operations by establishing priorities, sequences, and proper staffing levels to ensure delivery of quality products which meets and exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in manufacturing environment, with a bachelor’s degree in business management or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees toward higher efficiency and skill level
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Exceptional Leadership skills with a focus in fostering strong relationships is a must (including: team building, career development, delegation, coaching, and performance management)
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & other Continuous Improvement methods
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Operating System
  • Ability to proactively execute multiple projects, while staying organized and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
  • Commitment to upholding company culture and values
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and personal accountability
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • Prior experience reading and understanding Blueprint format
  • Roll up your sleeves / hands on approach to leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Formal certifications in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Accelerated Root Cause or Transactional Lean. (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for manufacturing leadership and direction for safety, production and quality issues for respective shift
  • Effectively plan and organize work objectives, goals and priorities and defining employee roles and responsibilities
  • Develop crew members for improving individual and organization performance
  • Lead performance management and corrective action processes for assigned crew
  • Continuously improve plant performance through process improvements and use of lean methodologies
  • Review and submission of punch detail, overtime approvals, payroll adjustments and any other matters affecting an employee's pay
  • Coach to facilitate problem solving between and within the shift
  • Administration of plant policies, guidelines and systems
  • Maintain proper safety conditions and compliance with all standard equipment safety practices and provide leadership and direction for the safety of all employees and visitors to the facility
  • Ensure manufacturing job operations maintain or improve product quality
  • Lead, track and improve performance on key location goals and objectives
  • Maintain positive employee relations
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Sales, Scheduling, Warehouse, Shipping, etc.) to optimize production requirements
  • Analyze data to make sound decisions and solve problems concerning production issues
  • Work with upstream and downstream people and processes to exceed customer expectations
