About The Position

LiDestri Foods, a family-run company based in Rochester, NY, has grown from a pasta sauce and salsa manufacturer to an R&D engine, formulating and producing innovative food products for national and retailer brand partners. The Production Shift Manager will manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations for an assigned shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environment
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written
• Experience in department cost control and budget management
• Excellent Leadership capability - ability to motivate and influence others
• Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experience

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree with 3-5 years supervisory experience in a production setting

Responsibilities

• Responsible for aspects of the manufacturing operation on assigned shift; which includes meeting established safety, quality, line efficiency, yield, cost per case and customer service goals/standards
• Management of hourly employees to include: hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training and development, completion of performance evaluations, approval and maintenance of records of employee attendance/hours worked
• Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
• Work with cross functional teams to resolve technical problems
• Review material transactions and completes production work orders
• Enforces safety and housekeeping rules and policies
• Manage/supervisor 10+ hourly employees
• Coach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisal
• Maintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off
• Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
