About the position
The Supervisor position at H.B. Fuller is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all employees in the production area. This role involves overseeing the crew's work assignments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate documentation of processes and batch information. The Supervisor will also be accountable for training and coaching operators, managing timecards, and communicating effectively with various departments to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all employees.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations, quickly identifying and correcting safety issues.
- Provide direction to crew regarding work assignments and production priorities.
- Check frequently with Operators to ensure timely and error-free work completion.
- Ensure that all procedures and special instructions are being followed during the production process.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of SAP through Batch Ticket Issuing, Error Checking, and Closing.
- Proactively identify and notify area management of potential problems or maintenance issues.
- Supervise the training of operators and maintain the Operator Training Matrix.
- Submit work orders for maintenance and safety issues as needed.
- Review housekeeping practices and ensure compliance among Operators.
- Communicate the status of ongoing work and issues during shift changes.
Requirements
- Supervisory or Lead Operator/Team Leader experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures and safety rules.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in following procedures and documenting process batch information.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Analytical/problem-solving ability and sound mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of supervisory and management techniques.
- Proven history of leading teams.
