About The Position

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. The Role T1 Energy is looking to hire a Production Shift Lead I which plays a critical role in leading and supporting frontline production operations during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for coordinating daily activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving productivity goals in a fast-paced solar panel manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving and team development.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual in English and Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, production tracking systems).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; solar or electronics manufacturing a plus.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience in a production or team lead role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of production operators and line leads across the assigned shift to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
  • Monitor daily production output, identify issues, and proactively escalate operational or personnel concerns to supervisors or managers.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards throughout the shift.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and ensure all employees understand daily objectives and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with other shift leads and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of operations.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and escalate technical issues to maintenance or engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of shift activities, production data, and personnel attendance.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment by enforcing safety protocols and reporting any incidents immediately.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
