About The Position

The Production Scheduler & Planner is responsible for coordinating production scheduling and materials planning for OCC Dallas. This role involves managing daily priorities between production, sales, and inventory control while ensuring compliance with corporate lead time objectives and maintaining safety stock levels in the MRP system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or six years' experience in manufacturing and materials control environment.
  • Experience working for a design engineering and manufacturing company preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience using software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an ERP system.
  • Ability to plan, layout, and execute complex work programs, functions, and operations to ensure quality.
  • Sufficient math and handwriting skills required to complete all documentation accurately.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely.
  • Extensive ability to manage and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and schedule material requirements and production accurately, and to recognize, document, and help resolve problems.
  • Able to organize, complete tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the daily priorities between production, sales, and inventory control.
  • Complies with and maintains corporate lead time objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety stock levels in the MRP system.
  • Assists with setting safety stock levels, as directed by the manager.
  • Analyzes and identifies component, sub-assembly, and finished good stock levels.
  • Generates work orders for the production floor.
  • Reviews all BOM's and drawings for accuracy prior to the release to production.
