About The Position

Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Production Safety Administrative Assistant. This hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH, facility and reports to the Vice President of Production Operations. Specific duties and responsibilities of a Production Safety Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to, serving as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values, managing coordination for departmental meetings, coordinating and implementing general office services, developing memos and reports, proofreading materials, completing daily trips to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, analyzing training needs, leading the safety committee, overseeing safety manuals and programs, conducting safety training, and providing guidance in occupational safety.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Effective written and oral English communication skills.
  • Willingness to obtain effective written and oral Spanish communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Outstanding organizational skills including exceptional time management abilities and capability to prioritize tasks.
  • Great verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capacity to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Reliable means of transportation to report to work on-time.
  • Willingness to conduct in person and virtual presentations for a variety of group sizes.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA-30 current certification or willingness to obtain it within the first six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery and equipment, farm animals, and production agricultural enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
  • Manage coordination for departmental meetings, including room set up, meals, schedules, and lodging.
  • Coordinate and implement general office services such as appointment scheduling, billing, and travel arrangements for senior staff.
  • Develop memos, reports, and other correspondence, plan meetings, and take detailed minutes as needed.
  • Proofread memos, reports, advertisements, and other materials.
  • Complete a daily trip to the Ohio Department of Agriculture on behalf of the production department.
  • Analyze training needs to design occupational safety programs.
  • Conduct or find resources for mandated safety training.
  • Coach and educate all levels of management and employees on occupational safety regulations.
  • Lead and mentor the organization's safety committee.
  • Oversee safety manual, safety data sheets, OSHA 300 log, and other related programs in coordination with the HR department.
  • Conduct and/or provide required safety training.
  • Provide general guidance, direction, and advice in all areas of occupational safety.
