About The Position

Ericsson’s 5G Smart Factory seeks a Final Assembly Production Quality Engineer (PQE) to oversee full product and process quality, maintain quality assurance systems, address quality issues, enhance performance, manage risks, and ensure output meets Ericsson and customer standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing quality verification and project management.
  • Working knowledge of quality management methods and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Ability to learn and apply Statistical Process Control, measurement system analysis (Gage R&R), error-proofing techniques (Poka-Yoke), and Root Cause Analysis methods (8D problem-solving, 5 Whys).
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities with capacity to present data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Proactive approach with results-oriented thinking and strategic problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly process assessments, enforce controls, and escalate nonconformance promptly.
  • Guide Quality Inspection teams on process and workmanship to ensure high standards.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on new product releases to meet Yield KPIs.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to coordinate new product releases and ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • Lead improvement initiatives and corrective actions while monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Review process workflows, establish failure mode and effects analyses (DFMEA/PFMEA), and maintain Control Plans for production quality verification.
  • Report quality results to the Product Quality Leader and Management team with corrective action plans for each product.
  • Establish quality acceptance criteria for new production equipment.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the Factory Review and Action Group (FRAG) team to improve product performance.
  • Exercise authority to temporarily halt production when quality risks are identified and resume production after containment actions are implemented and risks are mitigated.
