About The Position

We’re looking for a Production Planning & Scheduling Manager to take ownership of our master scheduling and planning function—ensuring the right work flows through the shop at the right time, with the right resources.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in production planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong background in ERP/MRP systems and data integrity
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing (job shop preferred)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments
  • Ability to read prints and understand manufacturing workflows
  • Proven ability to solve problems, manage priorities, and lead teams
  • Must meet ITAR U.S. Person requirements – Prototek maintains International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliant operations in United States based facilities.
  • This position is subject to ITAR which requires U.S. Person status.
  • ITAR defines U.S. Person as U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the master production schedule across departments
  • Balance demand vs. capacity in a high-mix, fast-paced environment
  • Lead production planning and purchasing teams to ensure alignment and execution
  • Optimize schedules based on material, labor, and machine availability
  • Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in throughput and on-time delivery
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Quality, and Sourcing
  • Support quoting efforts with production timing and feasibility input
  • Monitor key metrics: schedule attainment, backlog, and production efficiency
