About The Position

A confidential U.S. defense manufacturer is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planner to oversee material flow, production scheduling, and cross-departmental coordination. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely product delivery, efficient inventory management, and communication between purchasing, production, and logistics teams.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing production planning experience.
• Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control, and production scheduling systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• VantageClear Certification (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute master production schedules and material requirements plans (MRP).
• Review incoming orders and ensure accurate production scheduling to meet customer demand.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure timelines are met.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels for finished goods, sub-assemblies, and components.
• Release jobs to the production floor daily and monitor work-in-progress.
• Implement engineering change notices and communicate schedule adjustments as needed.
• Analyze capacity, workload, and lead times to maintain balanced and efficient production flow.
• Track shipment dates and communicate status updates throughout the organization.
• Generate and review production reports to identify bottlenecks or process inefficiencies.
