The production planner's responsibilities include supporting customer requests, providing excellent customer service, handling all tasks related to order management, monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. To be successful as a production planner, you should be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally, be knowledgeable of material requirements planning, able to manage production deadlines, and evaluate demand change impacts. Ultimately, an exceptional production planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.

  • Communicates daily with customers and handle all order requests, change requests, and field/direct general request from customers.
  • Evaluates, reviews, and confirms purchase orders accurately and create suitable production schedules.
  • Performs order management including receiving, reviewing, and entering/rejecting customer orders as well as managing order change requests.
  • Estimates the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Addresses and resolves production issues promptly to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinates production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Works with sales and operations to find win-win solutions for both our customers and Crenlo.
  • Provides recommendations for viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Executes changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Compiles status and performance reports and submits them to management in a timely manner.
  • Informs the relevant departments promptly of changes to current production schedules.
  • Works with Cost Estimating and Sales to provide service quotes to customers as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working as a production planner. Minimum 2 years’ experience.
