About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join our team in San Diego, CA. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for scheduling all shop orders to meet customer demands efficiently. You will work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • 1-3 years of experience in planning.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Great communication skills with relevant stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with ERP scheduling software is desired but not required.
  • SAP/Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Experience from a truck/transportation/logistics company is preferred.
  • Experience in working with large companies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Work with scheduling software to maintain accurate shop order dates.
  • Develop weekly production schedules with a rolling 12-week horizon.
  • Build shop schedules that maximize shop capacity and productivity.
  • Make capacity recommendations to maintain a valid schedule with available manpower while minimizing overtime.
  • Lead weekly scheduling meetings where the upcoming week’s schedule is reviewed, finalized, and published.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Materials Manager on scheduling shop work.
  • Proactively make appropriate schedule changes based on knowledge of material and capacity availability.
  • Communicate clearly through written and verbal communication with management, peers, and shop floor.
  • Use a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement improvements that result in higher productivity, lower cost, and a positive impact on the manufacturing process.
  • Review all order revisions, make appropriate changes to orders, and communicate changes with the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete analysis, prepare reports and presentations, and communicate to peers, managers, and senior leaders.
  • Set up inbound loads of products.
  • Review shortages and expedite through all operations to meet shop order completions.
  • Review and monitor established run rates and customer lead times.
  • Interact with order entry, fleet, and truck pool departments for inquiries, customer requests, and cancellations.
  • Ensure accuracy of data in the planning system.
  • Complete analysis and reports as needed.
