About The Position

The Production Planner role involves developing, maintaining, and executing production plans to ensure timely and efficient material flow. This includes analyzing production schedules for material requirements, collaborating cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate material movement and resolve constraints. The planner monitors and manages material shortages, leads shortage review meetings, and identifies critical part shortages. They ensure material variances are reviewed and minimized, maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), evaluate manufacturing capacity, and allocate resources. Additionally, the role involves investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies and participating in Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and Ship Schedule meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years; or equivalent work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Production Planning or Materials role within a High‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment, with demonstrated support of both New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP (or equivalent ERP system) to support production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory control, and BOM maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data sorting, charting, and reporting to support planning analysis and decision‑making.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify material shortages, resolve planning constraints, and address inventory and cycle count variances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present production status, shortages, and recommendations clearly in both formal forums (manufacturing readiness, ship schedule meetings) and informal settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple production plans, shortages, and planning projects concurrently.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure material availability and schedule adherence.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast‑paced, multifaceted manufacturing environment, with the ability to quickly adjust plans in response to changing priorities and constraints.
  • Self‑motivated and results‑driven, with a continuous improvement mindset and a strong desire to grow professionally while contributing to company success.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) is preferred and considered a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute production plans to ensure the timely and efficient flow of materials through the manufacturing process.
  • Analyze production schedules to determine material requirements and ensure availability to support build plans and customer delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate material movement and resolve constraints.
  • Monitor and manage material shortages, lead shortage review meetings with the Procurement team, and proactively identify critical part shortages that could impact production or shipment schedules.
  • Ensure all material variances, non‑conformances, or deviations are reviewed, approved, and minimized to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy and alignment with production processes to support efficient material flow.
  • Evaluate manufacturing capacity and allocate resources appropriately to meet production commitments.
  • Investigate and resolve cycle count discrepancies and inventory variances to maintain data accuracy.
  • Participate in Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and Ship Schedule meetings to support planning alignment and execution readiness.
