Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet project requirements. Advises team on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential problems to ensure that equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders, purchase requests, and/or purchase of components based on the project schedule. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc. to achieve project timelines. Work as part of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) as required to support schedule changes. Provide part planning and inventory control parameters to the control system for make items. Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with project schedules. Determine shortages and initiate action to correct these deficiencies. Contribute suggestions toward the continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
