PLANT PLANNER / SCHEDULER “Come build a Career with our Growing, Fast-Paced, Customer-Focused Company that fosters Training & Professional Development!” The Role Optimize Equipment and Resource Allocation Strategic scheduling of equipment and resources to meet customer requested and promised delivery dates. Manage inventory levels to optimize service levels and manage working capital. Ensure all safety and environmental policies are being followed with focus on forklift and loading dock safety. Facilitate and support LEAN activities throughout plant. Maintain forward-looking plan, load schedule and labor requirements 4-6 weeks out. Analyze forward looking forecasts and calculate utilization of specific molds, machines, and work cells. Recommend needed capacity additions to support forecasts at targeted lead times. Deliver goods on time, in full, and free from shipment defects. Inventory Management Manage excess and obsolescence to minimize the financial exposure to the business caused by a change to an existing product or discontinued product. Create production schedules that meet delivery commitments and optimize labor resources. Build efficient mold change schedules and create efficient run strategies that incorporate machine and mold preventative maintenance schedules. Oversee the planning and implementation of production pertaining to new product introductions within the plant. Establish and enforce processes to manage inventory, including but not limited to cycle counting and full physical inventory counts. Drive inventory reduction by implementing improvements in areas such as material planning, supplier stocking programs, vendor managed inventory, etc. Optimization of Sample Process and Bill of Materials (BOM) Maintenance Collaborate with internal departments to ensure engineering, operations and sales samples are scheduled in a timely manner. Ensure customer specifications are met and the team has accurate documentation. Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM), mold, raw materials, packaging, labor, cycle are accurate: interact with Quality to ensure packaging instruction accuracy, validate variances with Operations, take actions to correct and update cycle and routing information as needed. Continuous Improvement and Optimization Utilize Comar systems such as the Business Intelligence platform, DOMO and Enterprise Resource Planning system, IQMS to analyze and proactively respond to areas of inefficiency and use performance metrics to drive improvement. Develop the master production schedule and finite schedule for assigned production lines, reviewing daily/weekly/monthly production to make the necessary adjustments to reflect changes in customer requirements, material receipt delays, and production capacity requirements. Use IQMS materials resource planning, inventory management, work order management, auto replenishment and forecasting modules to minimize costs, reduce lead times, maintain delivery performance goals, etc. Use weekly and monthly performance metrics including key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvement. Build and Sustain Productive Work Relationships Communicate supply/demand information throughout the plant so that stake holders are aware of key information and metrics. Develop and sustain open and productive relationships with key corporate and operational personnel (Customer Service, Operations, etc.) Initiate and maintain relationships with appropriate industry and professional organizations/associates to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge encompassing best practices and technology.
