About The Position

The Planner works under the supervision of the Materials Supervisor and is responsible for the inbound flow of material from the supplier to the production facility. This position works closely with the supplier contact to track/expedite orders. They also work with our inside sales and outside sales agents regarding the flow of the orders. The Planner is responsible for maintaining the raw coil levels and maintaining a sufficient flow of truck and railcars into our facilities. Once material is available to schedule, the Planner is responsible for scheduling the galvanizing line as efficiently as possible. The Planner serves as the primary contact between the material planning and operations group.

• Computer skills including spreadsheets and company business systems
• Analytical ability and problem solving

Nice To Haves

• Post High School Diploma education, Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Microsoft Office Product experience (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Responsibilities

• Release material from the supplier daily/track inbound rail and truck to ensure on time delivery.
• Expedite and follow up on orders at the supplier/report order progress to inside sales.
• Determine inbound requirements through consistent communications with the operation.
• Report weekly supplier and production delivery performance.
• Work with operations personnel, IT, and suppliers to improve delivery performance.
• Maintain open communication link between inside sales and customer service representatives at the supplier.
