About The Position

Mission: The Production Planner supports the Master Scheduler in maintaining a valid, realistic, and executable Master Production Schedule that aligns with Business Unit sales forecasts, core vendor schedules, and customer orders. This role ensures cross-functional communication with Sales, Planning, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive on-time delivery performance. The position is also responsible for processing router changes, updating delivery dates based on span-time revisions, modifying Bills of Materials, and managing all inventory transactions required to support the core schedule. Additional responsibilities include shipping, receiving, and inventory management for the Deer Creek Core Department. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Master Schedule: Objective: Assist the Master Scheduler in maintaining and adhering to the Master Schedule to support the Business Unit plan and ensure on-time customer delivery. Typical Activities: Conduct weekly master schedule reviews with the Master Scheduler, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify required modifications to shipping dates based on router or lot-specific changes. Ensure process router changes are accurately entered into Visibility. Update Bills of Materials (BOMs) in response to router changes. Initiate and maintain requisitions for Assembled Wax Patterns to vendors, as required. 2. Delivery Service Report: Objective: Communicate regularly with the Master Scheduler, Planners, Manufacturing, and Engineering regarding changes to process routers, including span time and cost impacts. Typical Activities: Represent Planning in meetings with Finance, Manufacturing, and Engineering regarding raw material and wax input plans. Ensure Engineers correctly mark process routers before entry into Visibility. Monitor outside process delivery commitments, establish vendor delivery measurements, and distribute monthly vendor scorecards. 3. Weekly Delivery Measurements: Typical Activities: Work with Engineers to initiate and document process router changes. Ensure delivery dates are properly updated to reflect router modifications or lot-specific adjustments. Maintain and publish throughput reports by vendor weekly for Master Scheduler 4. Monthly and Quarterly Shipping Schedules: Objective: Support the Master Scheduler in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly shipment and vendor delivery plans; proactively contribute to meeting customer delivery requirements. Typical Activities: Create and maintain accurate shipment schedules using Excel, with a focus on core vendor deliveries. Identify potential schedule risks early in the quarter and work to remove shipping barriers. Communicate pushouts, pull-ins, and other delivery issues daily to the Master Scheduler to support customer demand alignment. 5. Inventory Generalist (Cores): Objective: Manage all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities for the Deer Creek Core Department. Typical Activities: Process all incoming and outgoing materials within the Visibility MRP system. Support monthly and quarterly physical inventory audits and perform routine cycle counts. Travel to vendors to ensure schedule adherence and capacity requirements for upcoming fiscal quarters.

Requirements

  • Planner, Scheduler, or Analyst experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and the Visibility MRP system.
