About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining short‑term production plans that support the approved Master Production Schedule while ensuring executable schedules, material alignment, and on‑time delivery. This role focuses on production plan execution by aligning schedules with available capacity and material availability, monitoring execution risks, and escalating constraints as needed. The Production Planner works cross‑functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure production schedules are executable and aligned with business priorities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP) and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Execute the approved Master Production Schedule by developing and maintaining near‑term production schedules within established planning time fences.
  • Convert released plans into executable shop orders, ensuring correct dates, quantities, and sequencing.
  • Sequence and prioritize work orders to support daily production execution and on‑time completion.
  • Escalate any required changes to the production plan.
  • Create, release, update, and close shop orders in alignment with the approved production plan.
  • Monitor shop order progress and coordinate with Production Supervisors to address execution issues.
  • Adjust sequencing and priorities only to manage execution issues, not to rebalance demand or capacity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shop order transactions within the ERP system.
  • Confirm material readiness for released shop orders in coordination with Buyers and Inventory teams.
  • Identify material shortages or risks impacting execution and escalate appropriately.
  • Support issue resolution to prevent production interruptions.
  • Identify short‑term execution risks related to materials, labor, equipment, or data accuracy.
  • Escalate constraints or recurring issues that may impact delivery performance to the Master Planner or appropriate functional owner.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to execution performance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely production execution data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track execution‑level metrics such as schedule adherence, shop order completion, and WIP status.
  • Provide execution visibility and status updates to support operational decision‑making.
