The Production Planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity within the assigned Customer Fulfillment Unit (CFU). This position works with minimal supervision and must be able to work with people on all organizational levels inside and outside our facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related manufacturing environment required.
  • Extensive computer experience working with MS Office; strong Excel skills are required (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas).
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook as well as with an ERP software (Oracle preferred) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently and accurately prepares and manages detailed production schedules and status reports to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Releases work orders in the ERP system according to the schedule and prioritizes jobs for production optimization to meet company and financial requirements.
  • Monitor the sales backlog for his/her planner code
  • Liaison with OE & Aftermarket teams on loading and lead-time of all new Sales Orders
  • Sales order Entry and management.
  • Participate in Project meetings and provide materials availability status.
  • Support on PSI and preparing daily shipping priorities.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving on-time deliveries of quality products.
  • Follow through special requests and expedites.
  • Identify potential late deliveries and plan recovery.
  • Communicate with Projects, Aftermarket, Operations, and Materials departments to smoothly coordinate scheduling changes.
  • Create, maintain, and update various spreadsheets and system information as needed.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position which may include quoting lead times for specialty items, document control, creating procedures, or other duties as may be assigned.
  • Raise issues to the Operations Manager as needed in a timely manner.
