About The Position

The role involves planning the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations related to specific portions of the product for guidance of production workers. The position requires planning detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases. Responsibilities include determining the need for tooling, making recommendations for the design and planning of required tools, preparing shop work orders for materials and product processing, and coordinating with schedulers to ensure that items are processed according to specifications and time requirements. The role also involves maintaining progress reports, schedules, and other related records.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate or Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate.
  • High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
  • High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of CVN Ship layout, Construction and Nomenclature.
  • Ability to read and interpret CVN structural drawings and general notes.
  • Comprehend and interpret NDT specifications and drawing requirements.
  • Comprehend and interpret Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with others and under pressure.
  • Proficient in using SAP, TcVis Software, and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Practical experience in Fitting, Welding, and/or Inspection.
  • Attention to detail and a First Time Quality mindset.
  • Open to new ideas/concepts that will improve processes.
