About The Position

Interested in a career that matters? Join us as our new Production Operator This position works under close supervision and is primarily responsible for operating in the Bottle Packaging department. This position works second shift with ours of 2:30pm-10:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Overtime is possible on weekends. In this role you'll make an impact by: Setting up (assembling and disassembling), operating, adjusting, cleaning and sanitizing equipment to package products within quality standards and according to procedures. Accurately weighing and/or counting product. Performing minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate. Assisting others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by the direction of the Supervisor. Printing and applying labels to products. Verifying lot and batch numbers and maintaining accurate production records, and equipment logs. Assisting in developing and improving SOPs. Following all workplace safety protocols and always ensure safe operation of equipment. Maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Participating in safety training and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately. Working closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to meet production deadlines. Participating in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles. Troubleshooting and/or identify equipment failures or problems. Completing necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records. Adhering to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, and Standardized Work procedures. Ensure training is completed on time.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
  • Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches.
  • Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • ERP system knowledge (SAP), preferred.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred.
