This role includes opening and closing the kitchen, assisting with staff training, and overseeing kitchen production and operations in the absence of a manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year with operating automated manufacturing equipment or 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or kitchen environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with pH meters and Brix refractometer and a general understanding of what the information means in relation to food production.
  • Experience in upholding kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
  • Ability to maintain/manage confidential information
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with equipment to know how and when to make appropriate adjustments to ensure the highest product quality and consistency.
  • Accurately prepare ingredients, workstations and equipment for production, including performing regular checks to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Prep, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store all facility consumables and products.
  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain high-quality standards during shifts including constant QA/QC of all products being prepped and produced with regard to weights, appearance of product and flavor profile.
  • Accurately read, record and communicate all kitchen data, counts, measurements and weights; performing visual quality inspections on products, minimizing waste where possible.
  • Perform periodic checks of products and documents using the data to confirm specifications and ability to make the appropriate adjustments within the guidelines of what you are authorized to do. Periodic checks include but are not limited to, pH, Brix, Color, Odor, and appearance.
  • Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products in compliance with safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work environment in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Effectively manage your time and that of your team to stay on schedule to meet daily production expectations.
  • Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching production
  • Ability to communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels with the company
  • Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to supervisors, Managers and/or Directors
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Production Support team.
  • Assist the Production Management as needed
  • Assist in Packaging responsibilities as required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned

  • As a non-exempt employee, you'll receive a competitive hourly wage of $23.50-$28.15/hr. paid biweekly, 11 paid holidays, 80 hours of PTO, 401k and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
