Your Role: This position requires knowledge and ability to perform duties related to producing pharmaceutical bulk active ingredients and intermediates.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to read and write legibly in English and perform mathematical calculations such as yield and scale-down batch ratios.
  • Prior pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or batch chemical experience required. Or candidate must have 2-3 years prior experience in light industrial setting, prior pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or batch chemical experience would be preferred.
  • Must be able to work accurately and according to written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain respirator clearance.
  • Must be clean shaven to wear a tight-fitting respirator
  • Must be able to learn and operate computer-controlled equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift schedule 6pm – 6:30am

  • Having additional computer skills is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates full competency in the operation of all production equipment and understanding of chemical processes.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment but not limited to; fixed reactors, filters, pumps, dryers, glassware, chillers, and mills.
  • Ensures good document practices in the recording, maintenance, and organizing of batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks for responsible areas.
  • Must be able to obtain and interpret information shown by instruments, such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, or flow indicators, recorders or controllers and make corrective adjustments as required on equipment, based upon information obtained.
  • Must keep accurate Batch Log Record Sheets showing materials used, produced and pertinent operating information such as pressure, temperature, and vacuum.
  • Accurately labels containers i.e. drums, bottles.
  • Immediately inform the Supervisor of deviations in the process and complete deviation forms as required.
  • Carries out all work as instructed by the Supervisor, assists when investigations must be conducted, and takes immediate action in case of emergencies.
  • Properly collects and submits various samples for quality analysis.
  • Dispose of waste in a correct manner and is responsible for good housekeeping and cleanliness at workstation.
  • Aims at the highest possible productivity considering all relevant safety, environmental and quality (cGMP) regulations and guidelines.
  • Know and follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
