About The Position

The Production Operator position at Georgia-Pacific Gypsum involves working in a manufacturing environment to support machine operators and ensure a safe and efficient production process. Operators will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness around machines, operating production equipment, and adhering to safety regulations in a challenging industrial setting.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment OR completion of post high school education in a manufacturing/industrial centered program
• Ability to operate mobile equipment and obtain mobile equipment certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing setting
• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
• Monitor and/or enter data into computer control systems
• Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production
• Perform basic asset care duties including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of the work area
• Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
• Operate and/or work around mobile equipment
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve hours a day in a loud and industrial environment.
