It is the cornerstone for all that we do here at Wyld. -Make a Mark -We Blaze Our Own Trail -Brand First -We Mean Business Summary The Production Operator Supervisor leads day-to-day operation of the automated gummy line, including start-up, production, changeovers, and shutdowns. This role operates, troubleshoots, and performs first- and second-level repairs on automated cooking, depositing, demolding, conditioning, and packaging equipment. The position manages line staffing and workflow, ensures product quality and compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards, and partners closely with the Kitchen Manager, Plant Manager, and the Automation & Equipment Team for preventative maintenance, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of directly related experience in a production/manufacturing environment (food or beverage preferred) with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role; prior hands-on experience operating automated equipment required.
  • Electrical/Mechanical: Knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals; ability to read wiring schematics and understand control wiring/PLC logic at a basic level to maintain safe, efficient operation.
  • Maintenance & Tools: Experience using hand/power tools and electrical/electronic test equipment; able to perform first- and second-level repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Quality Systems: Experience using pH meters and Brix refractometers and interpreting results for process adjustments; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency, preferably in a fast-paced work environment
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
  • Ability to maintain and manage confidential information
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Travel: Occasional travel between buildings and sites may be required for equipment commissioning and automation launches.
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate the automated gummy line across cooking, depositing, demolding/conditioning, and packaging; perform pre-op checks, start-up, changeover, and shutdown in accordance with SOPs.
  • Maintain high-quality standards during shifts, including ongoing QA/QC of product weights, appearance, and flavor profile; accurately record all batch/line data, counts, measurements, and weights in digital logs.
  • Perform periodic checks (e.g., pH, Brix, color, odor, appearance) and make in-process adjustments within authorization; escalate issues that are out of tolerance.
  • Plan production schedules with the Kitchen Manager; manage daily line flow to meet quotas and achieve throughput, yield, and waste targets.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, in-process goods, and finished product; uphold sanitation and food-safety standards; maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues to minimize downtime; read wiring schematics and apply basic PLC logic understanding to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
  • Execute and/or coordinate preventative maintenance (PM), complete work orders, and document repairs; collaborate with the Automation & Equipment Team and Facilities on upgrades and building modifications as needed.
  • Lead and support commissioning/start-up of new or upgraded equipment and train local teams on proper operation; support IQ/OQ/PQ and vendor acceptance activities as required.
  • Analyze equipment performance and process capability; recommend and implement improvements to enhance OEE, quality, and safety while reducing waste.
  • Supervise Production Operators and Production Support assigned to the gummy line; schedule, assign, and direct work; provide day-to-day coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure team members understand and execute SOPs and receive ongoing training when procedures are updated; promote a strong safety culture and compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to the Kitchen Manager, Plant Manager, and/or Automation & Equipment Team; assist cross-functional teams and support packaging operations as needed.
  • Complete and submit reports accurately and on time; maintain inventories of packaging supplies and coordinate material needs with Supply Chain.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs

  • As an exempt employee, you'll receive a competitive yearly wage of $70,304 -$80,000 paid biweekly, 11 paid holidays, 120 hours of PTO, 401k and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
