Join us as our new Production Operator in Stick Pack This position works under close supervision and is primarily responsible for operating in the Stick Pack department. The 1st shift is from Monday through Thursday, with operating hours from 5 am to 3 pm on each day. In this role you'll make an impact by: Setting-up (assembles and disassembles), operates, adjusts, cleans and sanitizes equipment to produce products within quality standards and according to procedures. Accurately measuring and mixing raw materials following batch production recipes and formulations. Troubleshoots and/or identifies equipment failures or problems. Performing minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate. Assisting others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor. Printings and applying labels to product. Verifying lot and batch numbers and maintaining accurate production records, and equipment logs. Following all workplace safety and sanitation protocols. Participating in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles. Adhering to Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) requirements when working in environments with airborne contaminants or hazardous materials. Maintaining required PAPR certification and ensure proper care and usage of all personal protective equipment (PPE). Takes necessary samples for QC testing as needed. Adhering to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications (Kosher and Halal).

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
  • Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches.
  • Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • ERP system knowledge (SAP), preferred.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred.
