Production Operator- Packaging

About The Position

Under the leadership and direction of the Production Packaging Technician or his/her designee the Production Operator runs exercises of operation packaging equipment, with the goal of meeting the established quality packaging standards. Follows the policies, procedures, and instructions established by the organization.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED Required.
Minimum one (1) years’ experience as a production packaging operator or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing, food industry experience; knowledge of good manufacturing policy (GMPS)
Technology experience desired

Responsibilities

Operates machinery used in the packaging process to produce product with the instruction and assistance of packaging technician.
Places products in packaging equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
Examines products on packaging area to verify conformance to quality standards.
Starts machines or equipment to begin Packaging processes.
Checks, cleans and maintains daily cleanliness of the packaging equipment and working areas to ensure strict compliance with safety quality, and good manufacturing practices as detailed in company policies/procedures as well as written/verbal directives provided by the Packaging Supervisor, or designee.
Takes physical counts on packaging items and reports these to the immediate Packaging supervisor and/or packaging technicians.
Maintains a safe working environment consistent with the policies, procedures and instructions set forth by the company.
Participates in process improvement programs in accordance with to the guidelines set forth by the company.
Utilizes protection groups and follows safety standards in order to minimize risks and prevent workplace accidents.
Follows the policies, standards, and procedures of the company’s safety and security systems, that promotes a healthy culture, secure place of employment and controls the risks to guarantee a safe working environment.
Performs as support to the Packaging Technician position and is responsible for learning key duties as needed and may perform some delegated tasks in his/her absence.
