About The Position

The position involves working as a member of the Operations Team at Dairy Farmers of America, performing various hourly functions and cross-training in different departments including raw milk receiving, evaporator, dryer, and packaging. The role requires inputting items into the SAP system and embodying the company's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing and/or production experience strongly preferred.
  • Able to learn and apply to plant environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to perform basic PC skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Unload tankers in the Raw Milk Receiving Department.
  • Control heat treatment and milk separation area, including CIP and production.
  • Control blending and preparation of Lactose totes for production.
  • Ensure tankers are unloaded safely and properly while achieving minimum established targets.
  • CIP tankers and silos.
  • Properly CIP silos and tankers while maintaining time management and documentation.
  • Load out cream while achieving all quality and customer requirements.
  • Complete master sanitation and maintain a clean and professional environment.
  • Actively seek causes and solutions to limit product losses.
  • Inspect raw materials.
  • Produce a quality product in the Evaporator Department.
  • Ensure all product produced is within accepted specifications.
  • Start, run, and shut down the evaporator.
  • Operate the evaporator and associated equipment while minimizing out of specification product.
  • Run all required quality checks and complete all required logs.
  • CIP the evaporator and all associated equipment.
  • Perform all chemical tests and complete required documents.
  • Achieve all production goals (KPI's) and report/document reasons targets are not met.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the Dryer Department.
  • Perform all master sanitation and maintain general housekeeping of the dryer area.
  • Perform tasks required to start, run, and shut down the dryer.
  • Perform hook-ups for the dryer and associated equipment.
  • Run all required quality checks and complete all required logs.
  • Perform duties in a timely manner to allow for minimal CIP time.
  • Achieve all production goals (KPI's) and report/document reasons targets are not met.
  • Produce a quality product in the Packaging Department.
  • Ensure all product produced is within accepted specifications.
  • Start, run, and shut down the packaging equipment.
  • Operate the packaging and associated equipment while minimizing out of specification product.
  • Run all required quality checks and complete all required logs.
  • Maintain the packaging equipment and associated equipment.
  • Complete and store all required documents.
  • Inspect raw materials.
  • Follow and promote all plant and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement including Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Attend required training including GMP's, HAACP, SQF, Safety, etc.
  • Maintain safe work habits and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Comply with all GMP, HACCP, safety, and plant documentation and regulatory policies and procedures.
