Because at TekniPlex, you don’t just deliver products – you help shape what’s next. TekniPlex is hiring a Production Operator III – 3rd shift for our Ridgefield, NJ facility. The hours for this are role are 12:00 am to 8:00 am. This position is under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for producing and/or packaging quality products on one of the production lines to customer specifications. This person is also responsible for maintaining the line, troubleshooting, setting up the line, performing screen changes, being prepared for changeovers and assigning lot numbers. This person must be capable of performing all employee tasks and other duties as required and assigned. The pay for this role is $25.26 per hour plus a shift differential of $0.75 while working 3rd shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization
  • Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form

Responsibilities

  • Following all safety rules and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Works closely with local management and production employees to achieve the “My Goal is Zero Accidents” objective
  • Ability to operate all equipment on the production line to include changes and set-up in the manufacturing process
  • Checking all work orders/specification sheets for specific work instructions
  • Perform hourly quality checks and double checks for accuracy
  • Accurately complete all paperwork as required
  • Collect retains during hourly quality checks for Quality Control inspection
  • Inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and professional look
  • Responsible for clean out of the blenders in accordance with instructions
  • Ensuring correct material, packaging supplies and quality control tools are being used
  • Scan product and material into LN
  • Limiting scrap and wasting of material
  • All aspects of changing a line over to another part/style number
  • Troubleshooting issues of the line
  • Provide training or help to other employees when needed or as needed to team members
