Job Title Production Operator III Responsible for performing multiple processes relating to the manufacture of technical ceramics and/or metals following work order specifications. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals. Maintains work area cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Shift: Swing Shift: Monday - Thursday: 3:30pm - 1:30am MST
  • Minimum of 1-year applicable manufacturing experience.
  • Prior machine operator experience required
  • Ability to understand and act on verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Read/interpret standard and metric measurements.
  • Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Experience with handheld measuring devices (e.g., drop gauges, micrometers) and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to interpret blueprints and part relationships.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a proven track record of accountability.
  • Ability to follow processes/work instructions while identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Good attitude and strong teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary
  • Prior machinist experience ideal.
  • Experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with mills; lathe experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LEAN standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple, complex production equipment and/or a variety of machines to manufacture ceramic parts in compliance with work order instructions.
  • Run and cross-train on different types of machines, including surface grinders, MTIs, and CNC mills.
  • Perform basic machinist tasks such as tooling and offset changes (training provided; CNC programming not required).
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality/customer specifications; take appropriate action on non-conforming parts and recommend solutions.
  • Transfer parts to the next process via computer software.
  • Load, unload, and stack product; transport product via hand-truck, forklift, crane, or hoist.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Train incoming operators on processes and procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times in designated areas.
